Jakarta, COTEKNO.COM – Current wireless charging technology usually involves the need for some kind of base, such as a magnetic chip as used in Apple’s MagSafe, or other wireless charging devices.
However, none of these are truly wireless. But Apple seems to want to change the way it works to be more sophisticated.
A report from Bloomberg has revealed that Apple is continuing to research true wireless charging technology, which would allow devices to charge completely free of certain cables or pads.
In fact, companies like Motorola, Xiaomi, and Oppo have also showcased working concepts that charge devices without the need for some sort of wireless charging mat.
Years ago there were rumors that Apple could work on such a technology, but nothing has ever actually worked.
Apple did attempt to revolutionize wireless charging technology with AirPower, but due to various technical issues, the project was eventually scrapped.
The report doesn’t say exactly when Apple’s wireless charging technology will debut, so it looks like Apple still needs some time to develop this technology.
