Jakarta, COTEKNO.COM – Last month, it was reported that Sony is getting ready with the latest True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earphones. Previous news stated that this device has active noise cancellation which is claimed to be better than before, then packed with various built-in features.
Now that the TWS is officially launched, the WF-1000XM4 glides with a compact design. When compared to the previous generation (XM3), the design looks more compact and rounded. Sony explains that the WF-1000XM4 has a design that is 10 percent smaller than the 1000XM4.
The WF-1000XM4 also has hands-free functionality, including dual connection and a microphone with Precise Voice Pickup feature that significantly improves call audio quality. Then just like its predecessor, the WF-1000XM4 is also IPX4 certified so you can be sure it will be waterproof.
Sony says the device has a new processing chip that results in better noise reduction “at all frequencies”. The TWS is equipped with a Sony V1 chip that provides enhanced high-frequency Active Noice Cancellation and delivers up to 40 percent lower noise levels compared to its predecessor.
These devices are claimed to be the world’s first TWS earbuds from Sony to feature support for Hi-Res audio via the LDAC codec.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 can last up to eight hours of continuous playback with the Noise Cancellation feature enabled. Without the ANC feature, the Sony WF-1000XM4 can last up to 12 hours. When using a casing, TWS can last about 24 hours (with ANC) or 36 hours (without ANC).
The price of the Sony WF-1000XM4 is priced at around 280 US dollars or Rp. 4 million. The device is still marketed in the United States and Europe. It is still unknown regarding global availability, including to Indonesia.
