COTEKNO.COM – The grand exhibition of the mobile communications industry starting at the end of June will be put to good use by Samsung. According to the latest leak, Samsung is predicted to introduce a new Wear OS for the company’s line of smartwatches.
Leaks coming from Sam Mobile claims that Samsung may be preparing something on its next-generation smartwatch. Samsung is expected to unveil some parts of the new OS during MWC 2021 online later this month.
Please note, Mobile World Congress 2021 (MWC 2021) is scheduled for June 28 to July 1. Rumors of a new version of Wear OS came from a “teaser” uploaded by the company.
Samsung has mentioned on the official MWC website that they will “re-visualizing smartwatches, creating new opportunities for developers and consumers“.
Teaser sentence ” Reimagining Smartwatch” is speculated to be pointing to the company’s new OS. Google has showcased some of the features of the new Wear OS version (not the final OS name) that will run on the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4 during last month’s Google I/O.
Quoted from GizmochinaThe smartwatch will be the latest wearable device from the company to feature a Super AMOLED display along with the 5nm Exynos chipset.
Google and Samsung have jointly developed the upcoming version of Wear OS. The new platform features up to 30 percent faster app loading times, improved power efficiency for longer battery life, improved App Stock, and several other additional features.
There will be a newer version of Google Fit, a standalone Google Maps app, Google Pay, YouTube Music with offline playback and a Fitbit app.
The brand also added that it can also add custom UI on top of the next generation Wear OS. Previously, Apple had introduced watchOS 8 with support for Ultra Wideband technology.
Some of the added features include digital car keys, new exercise modes (Pilates and Tai Chi), photo display settings to smart home controller features. Given that Apple has already updated the OS version on the company’s smartwatches, it’s not impossible that Samsung is doing the same with the new Wear OS.
