Ring Solar Eclipse. (BMKG)
COTEKNO.COM – In the near future there will be two natural phenomena that visit Earth. One of them is the annular solar eclipse of June 10, 2021. Apart from idu, there is also a new moon phase.
The annular solar eclipse of June 10, 2021, will be visible from several regions of the Earth. Unfortunately Indonesia did not get to witness it.
This natural phenomenon can be seen from several areas including the Northern Hemisphere, especially the polar circumference.
This means that the Indonesian region will not be able to witness the annular solar eclipse phenomenon on June 10, 2021. Then, what is the process of this GMC taking place?
The process of the occurrence of an annular solar eclipse
There are 3 types of solar eclipses, namely total, partial and annular. The GMC phenomenon occurs when the moon blocks the sun’s rays and its shadow is above the earth.
The moon does not completely obscure the sun because the moon is farther away than usual. As a result, the sun does not experience a total eclipse, but leaves a ‘ring of fire’ on its edge.
This eclipse will occur simultaneously with the new moon phase on June 10, 2021, at a distance of 404,245 km from the earth (geocentric) and is located in the constellation Taurus.
If it is adjusted to western Indonesian time, for example, starting at 15.21.20 WIB until 20.11.19. The appearance of the peak or maximum phase occurred at 17.43.05 WIB. Then the middle stage phenomenon or ‘ring of fire’ lasts for a maximum of 3 minutes 51 seconds.
The moon forms conjunctions with the sun and Mercury, so it can also be called the triple conjunction of the moon – mercury – sun. although this cannot be seen with the naked eye due to its low brightness
Areas Crossed by the Ring Solar Eclipse
This rare natural phenomenon occurs in areas crossed by Umbara, such as Canada, Greenland, and far eastern Russia. To be precise, the annular solar eclipse can only be seen on the islands of Ellesmere and Bafin (Canada) and the Siberian region (Russia).
Meanwhile, most regions in Europe, Russia, Central Asia, and East Asia can only witness a partial solar eclipse at the peak of the eclipse.
According to the LAPAN page, the phenomenon of an annular solar eclipse on June 10, 2021 cannot be witnessed in Indonesian territory. This is because the penumbral shadow of the moon that falls on the earth’s surface does not cross Indonesia. So the moon will not cover the sun.
That is the natural phenomenon of the ring solar eclipse of June 10, 2021, which can be seen from several areas north of the Earth. (Suara.com/ Yulia Kartika Dewi).
