The new Snapdragon 800 series uses 4nm fabrication technology

Expert leaker, Evan Blass has just provided the latest information for the successor to Snapdragon 888. Reportedly, they will use new manufacturing technology and not be produced by TSMC.

He said, Qualcomm is currently developing the latest generation Snapdragon 800 series with the code SM8450. This means, they are developing two processors at once as Snapdragon 888 Plus is also rumored to be in development.

The SM8450 is said to be coming with a new Kryo core, the Kryo 780. As is known, this core is made using ARM Arm v9 technology. This means, they will use the latest generation of CPU and GPU as reported by Wccftech (6/6).

For the chipset, they will use a 1 x 3 x 4 configuration like their predecessors. They will use a combination of Cortex-X2, Cortex-A710, and Cortex-A510 in the Qualcomm SM8450.

And for the GPU, they will use the Adreno 730 GPU. Not to forget, they will also use a new image processor, the new Spectra 680 Image Signal Processor.

This SoC will be made using 4nm fabrication technology. Interestingly, this SoC is also rumored to be produced by Samsung, not by TSMC. This is because TSMC is currently still developing the technology.

Unfortunately, until now there is still no information from Qualcomm regarding the presence of this SoC. For now, it’s likely that they will focus on pushing the Snapdragon 888 Plus to the market.
